Mr. Dwayne Beverly’s life was much like the work he loved as a skidder operator in the logging woods — strong, steady, and dependable. Just as the skidder clears paths through rugged terrain and carries heavy loads with purpose, Dwayne carried his family, friendships, and responsibilities with determination, resilience, and heart. Through every season of life, he worked hard, loved deeply, and left lasting tracks on the hearts of those who knew him.
Dwayne Beverly was born on August 9, 1960, in Bay Shore, New York, to Christine Parks and Collins Beverly. He peacefully departed this earthly life on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Georgia.
Dwayne attended the Lincoln County Public School System and was a proud member of the Class of 1980. From an early age, he understood the value of hard work and dedicated himself to providing for those he loved. Over the years, he worked various jobs before finding his calling in the logging industry. He was employed with Barksdale Logging Company, where he worked faithfully as a machine operator. In the woods, he earned respect for his skill, strength, and tireless work ethic. Like a skidder operator navigating through thick timber, Dwayne faced life’s obstacles head-on, never afraid of hard work or rough roads.
Beyond his work, Dwayne was a man who truly enjoyed life. He loved dancing, listening to music, watching football, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends. His laughter, humor, and easygoing spirit could brighten any room. He was also deeply devoted to the love of his life and fiancée, Margaret Beck Willis. Their loving relationship spanned more than twenty years and was built on loyalty, companionship, and unwavering love.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Collins Beverly and Christine Parks Jones; his stepfather, Kelly Jones; and a special niece, Janice Coppin.
Left to cherish his precious memories are his devoted fiancée, Margaret B. Willis of the home; two daughters, Erica (Akee) Thomas of Macon, Georgia, and Lashanda Durham of Lincolnton, Georgia; one son, Ephiram (Cynthia) Jones of Macon, Georgia; five sisters, Vickie Beverly, Lorie Jones, Kelly Mae Jones, Penny Jones, and Evonne Wright, all of Lincolnton, Georgia; one bonus sister, Barbara Burns of Washington, Georgia; and five beloved grandchildren, Kendray Jones, Skyla Jones, Akee Thomas, Jr., Delexica Durham, and Ashtyn Turman.
He also leaves to mourn his passing his cherished in-laws, Josephine Beck, Al Beck, and Sue Sherman; his best friends who were more like brothers, Jimmy Freeman, William Murray, Roger Banks, Lorenzo Beck, Henry Brown, Earthy Duncan, and Jeffery Porter; one special friend, Lisa Willingham; nieces, Kendra Alcide, Sabrina Jones, Monica Jones, and Alisha Stanley; nephews, Brandon Harris and Timothy Brown; along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family, and many dear friends.
Though Dwayne’s earthly journey has come to an end, the paths he cleared through love, hard work, and kindness will remain forever. Like the steady tracks left behind by the skidder he operated so proudly, his legacy will continue to guide and strengthen those who loved him.
