Listen to Obituary

Frances Annette Mercier Tutt, a cherished member of her community and beloved matriarch, departed this life on November 12, 2025, in Lincolnton, Georgia, surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 7, 1941, in Washington, Georgia, she was the fourth child born to the late Zack Mercier and Leola Jones Mercier.

Ann, affectionately known to her family and friends as "Ann," dedicated over 20 years of her life to the Oxford of Lincolnton Manufacturing plant before she gracefully stepped into retirement. Her work ethic and dedication shone brightly throughout her career, exemplifying her deep commitment to her responsibilities.

Ann was not only a devoted worker but also a nurturing sister who poured her heart into caring for her siblings. She held the tender role of the little sister who constantly sought to ensure the well-being of her family. Her personality was marked by an unwavering curiosity and a kindness that endeared her to all she encountered. Never meeting a stranger, Ann engaged everyone in conversation, leaving a lasting impression on their hearts.

Her education was grounded in the Lincoln County school system, where she began to cultivate the values that would guide her throughout her life. Among her proudest accomplishments was her acceptance of Christ as her personal Savior, leading her to join Rehoboth Baptist Church at an early age, a decision that would shape her spiritual journey.

Ann's love for family and friends was palpable, as she cherished moments spent in their company. She was known to dream of travel, eager to visit loved ones and create enduring memories. Her legacy is lovingly carried on by her son, Mitchell Hugh Tutt, her daughter, Gloria Tutt (Melvin) Harris, and her devoted brother, Bruch Pete Mercier all of Lincolnton, GA. Ann is also survived by her seven grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy: Mitchell Tutt, Brandt Harris, Tequila (Michael) Johnson, Lonshavious Lott, Tomia Willingham, Kendall Tutt, and Kyson Tutt, as well as twelve great-grandchildren—Alana, Kennedie, Kensley, Josiah, Justus, Kailyn, Braxton, O'leria, Sergio, A'dorie, Kamajah, and Kamarr; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ann's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who held her dear, including her late husband, Hugh Tutt, and her beloved grandson, Mitaiveon “Tai” Tutt, along with her siblings who have also predeceased her: Lizzie Dill White, Rupert M. Rouse, Ollie Mercier, and Marvin Mercier.

In the quiet reflection of her life, we remember Annette Mercier Tutt—not simply as a beloved sister, mother, and grandmother, but as a beacon of kindness, curiosity, and love who will forever illuminate the paths of those she touched.
