Shelia Patricia Green, a beloved daughter, devoted mother, and cherished sister, passed away on May 23, 2025, at Piedmont McDuffie. Born on January 11, 1973, in Augusta, GA, Shelia was raised with love and care by her parents, Lois Whimbush and Melchoir Mason, and was also nurtured by Willie Gene “Crow” Henderson, whom she regarded as her father.
After graduating from Lincoln County High School with the class of 1993, Shelia dedicated herself to building a fulfilling career. She retired from Shaw Industries after 25 years of dedicated service, leaving behind an admirable legacy of hard work and commitment. Even after her retirement, she continued to serve her community by working at Fast Times Convenience Store until her health declined.
Shelia found joy in many aspects of life. She had a passion for traveling and cherished the moments spent shopping. Her faith was central to her existence, and she joined White Rock Baptist Church, where she actively participated in the women's ministry and was a proud former member of the White Rock Young Adult Choir. These engagements symbolized her dedication to her faith and community. She held a particular fondness for eating crab legs, which echoed her appreciation for life's simple pleasures, and she took immense pride in supporting her children and grandchildren in their sports and extracurricular activities.
Shelia was preceded in death by her father, who lovingly raised her as his own, Willie Gene “Crow” Henderson, and her brother, Maletric Mason
Sheila is survived by her loving daughters, Shu'Qunta Chiles, Kiyasha Green, Khydra Green, and Kimora Green, who carry forward her spirit of passion and commitment. Her grandchildren, Jakaliah and Jayce Wynn, will feel the warmth of her love. Her mother, Mary Lois Allen, remains a pillar of strength, alongside her father, Melchoir Mason, Sr. She leaves behind her treasured siblings: Sable Davis of Thomasville, NC, Emma McCord of Lincolnton, GA, Matresa Mason (LJ Darden) of Clarksville, TN, Meritza Wynn (Damyen) of Old Hickory, TN, Alton McCord (Debra) of McCormick, SC, and Melchoir Mason, Jr. of Norfolk, VA.
Sheila's legacy extends further with many aunts and uncles, including Rosemary Tutt, Vanessa Zellars, Carol Dean Norman (Marvin), Mary Perrin, Lois Reid (Tony Harris), Dr. Michelle Mason-Woodard (Andre) all of Lincolnton, GA, Margaret Williams of Augusta, GA, Clint Wright of Swainsboro, GA, George Wright, Jr. of Milledgeville, GA, Sammie Lee Wright, Roy Whimbush, Marcus Mason (Mary) all of Lincolnton, GA, Michael Mason (Theresa), Augusta, GA, and Meredith Mason of Greenwood, SC. Her memory will be lovingly upheld by a large circle of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Each one holds their own cherished memories of her kindness, laughter, and love.
Though Shelia Patricia Green has departed from this world, her impact on those around her will forever remain. Her warmth and love nurtured countless lives, and her legacy will continue to flourish in the hearts of all who knew her.
May her soul find peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who loved her.
