Mr. William Henry “Pete” Cullars was born on May 22, 1951, in Lincolnton, Georgia, to the union of Mr. Blundell Cullars, Sr., and Mrs. Marie Elam Cullars. The youngest of twelve children, he was lovingly known as “Pete” by his family and friends.
Pete peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at WellStar Hospital in Augusta, GA.
He was preceded in death by his beloved children, Lawanda Cullars, Lashonda Cullars, and Keith Cullars; his parents; and siblings Mary Ida, James, Ulysses, Frank, Emerson, and Blundell, Jr.
Pete accepted Christ at an early age and became a devoted member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He served faithfully on the Gospel Choir, Kitchen Committee, and Trustee Board. He was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge.
He received his education in Lincoln County and graduated with the Class of 1970 from Westside High School. Pete spent many years working at SCT in Washington, Georgia, and later at Anthony Forest Products, where he remained until his retirement.
Pete had a passion for fishing and football, and he was a loyal and enthusiastic fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
He leaves to cherish his memory three sons: Julius (Shionta) Partlow of North Augusta, SC; Torrance (Sangae) Cullars of Lincolnton, GA; and Taruis Deon (Danielle) Cullars of Onaway, MI; one sister, Claudine Cullars of Trenton, NJ; three brothers: Paul (Doris) Cullars and Robert (Virgina) Cullars, both of Lincolnton, GA, and Johnny (Pam) Cullars of Rome, GA; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Pete will be remembered for his warm spirit, steadfast faith, and love for his family and community.
